The Tees Valley EDI Awards site was built entirely in a page builder, and its ticket page had no basket, no checkout and no order records behind it. Buying a ticket meant leaving the site.
Rebuilt on core WordPress
We rebuilt it on core WordPress, on a purpose-built theme with the brand set once as design tokens and pages assembled from a pattern library rather than built by hand one at a time. The brand’s real colours were recovered from the old site, because the builder’s global settings had never been set to them.
Tickets that sell on the site
We added a ticket shop that sells on the site itself, with VAT handled correctly at cart and checkout and tickets set up so there is no shipping step. The shop’s code loads on the shop pages, not across the whole site. We also rebuilt the nomination form to capture clear, per-person consent at the point of entry, and diagnosed and fixed a long-standing bug that had been dropping the award category out of nomination emails.
Built for the charity to run
A single source now drives the ceremony date, venue and running order, so updating it once updates every mention across the site, and accessibility ran through the whole build. The result is a site the team can edit themselves, without a page-builder licence.
